[writing with chair's hat off] Hi all, We had a lot of discussions at the last VNRG meeting in Maastricht about acid tests for VNs. Here is a first try to write down some acid tests. You can also check the wiki for a few more tests (to be updated soon): http://trac.tools.ietf.org/group/irtf/trac/wiki/vnrg/vn_acid_tests A light starter to the tests: To be a VN you have to fulfill this acid test: "Decoupled addressing and naming between VN and underlying network" This rules out TCP as VN, as TCP requires IP address and port numbers fitting to the underlying IP layer, if TCP would be regarded as VN. It is also not possible to run a TCP connection within a TCP if both are using the same socket pair locally and remote. Looking forward to your comments.
