Models for 3G And Beyond Cellular Mobile Networks

Abstract

This extended abstract describes some existing models and ongoing modeling efforts for the behavior of third-generation (3G) and beyond mobile cellular networks. We present modeling and measurement approaches for radio access and the mobile core network. Furthermore, we point out cross-layer interactions not seen in traditional wireline networks.
